People Ops Coordinator New York
Operations
Hybrid
Full-time
Air is a Creative Ops System for creative teams. Our product automates the mindless tasks that creatives and marketers do every day to manage content and unlocks creativity through image recognition, automated versioning, and approval workflows. We launched in March 2021 and have raised +$70m from world-class venture capital groups including Avenir, Tiger Global, Headline Ventures, Lerer Hippeau, WndrCo, and Slack Ventures.
This role requires in-office attendance 5 days/week in New York City.
The Role
Air is hiring an early-career People Ops Coordinator to be the People team’s presence on the ground in New York. You’ll help shape what it feels like to work at Air, from a new teammate’s first day to the moments that make the team feel like a team. Most of your work will be in People Ops: supporting onboarding, recognition, surveys, employee programs, and the questions people bring to the People team. You’ll also partner with our Workplace team to make the NYC office feel ready and welcoming, and to help bring the events that pull everyone together to life. As you grow, there’s room to shape the role around what you love most, whether that’s going deeper into People Ops or further into employee experience and events.
Core Responsibilities
Shape the employee experience at Air
- Own the new hire experience: coordinate onboarding logistics, make sure laptops, accounts and desks are ready, and give every new teammate a warm welcome on day one.
- Own recognition and milestone moments, like work anniversaries, team wins and welcome celebrations, so people feel seen.
- Be a first stop for employee questions on policies, benefits and People processes, and know when to loop in the right People team member.
- Run employee surveys, track the results and share what you’re hearing with the People team.
- Support offboarding, benefits enrollment windows and other lifecycle moments with care and accuracy.
Partner with our People team
- Help keep employee records, onboarding documents and People Ops processes organized, accurate and confidential.
- Help turn what we hear into People programs, from engagement initiatives and wellness offerings to culture-building moments.
- Help spot where our people processes could be smoother and suggest improvements.
Support the NYC office
- Pitch in on day-to-day office needs, like restocking, flagging repairs and greeting guests, and looping in Workplace for anything bigger
- Help coordinate in-office moments, like team lunches, events and new hire desk setups.
- Bring fresh ideas that make the space work better and feel more like us.
Requirements
- Experience: 0-2 years in full-time or internship roles, ideally in the PeopleOps, Events or Hospitality space.
- Technical ability: Proficient in Google Workspace + Slack. Rippling and Ramp is a plus.
How We Work at Air
- Act like a driver: Take initiative and ownership without waiting to be told.
- Work in public: Share ideas openly, get feedback early, and collaborate across teams.
- Play to win: Aim high and bring creativity, adaptability, and focus to your work.
- Say the hard thing: Give and receive feedback with clarity and respect.
- Disagree and commit: Debate honestly, then align quickly to move forward together.
Benefits Why Air?
- Growth and Impact: Join a rapidly scaling company with a mission to transform the creative ops space. Your work will have a direct, tangible impact on our ARR growth.
- Comprehensive Benefits: We offer competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with dependent coverage. You’ll also enjoy a generous work-from-home stipend, professional development reimbursement, and unlimited vacation days.
- Commitment to Diversity: We believe in the power of diverse perspectives and strive to create an inclusive culture that welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and experiences.
- Competitive Compensation: The compensation range for this role is USD $62,000 - $105,000 + equity, commensurate with experience.
At Air, we’re committed to building a world-class team and helping every individual reach their full potential. If you're passionate about solving big problems and growing with an innovative company, we’d love to meet you!
