Start and end dates are flexible. Trainees must be available to work full-time (40 hours/week) in person at the designated office location.

Department Description:
The Acquisitions Department oversees the sourcing, evaluation, and structuring of independent and international film deals for Sony Pictures Classics.
Responsibilities:

Assist with writing coverage for scripts and finished films for the Sony Pictures Classics Acquisitions team

Research on upcoming titles
-
Market research projects
-
Provide support on administrative duties
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree - In lieu of a degree, equivalent work experience
-
An interest in, and knowledge of, American independent & International films
-
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
-
Must be proficient in MS Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint (familiarity with Adobe suite is a plus)
Preferred Qualifications:

Strong administrative and organizational skills (scheduling, database management, data entry)

Excellent communication skills
-
Has the confidence to articulate thoughtful opinions about projects while remaining open to alternative perspectives and eager to learn the nuances of the business.

Possesses strong computer skills across both PC and Mac platforms, as well as a solid understanding of social media and the broader digital landscape.
