Position Title: EAM Value Realization, Emerging Talent Intern

Hourly Rate: $19.00 (Undergraduate), $21.00 (Graduate)

All internship positions are onsite and require regular, in-person attendance at the designated work location with a minimum of 20hrs per a week.

OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:

The EAM VR team is a group within Strategic Initiatives that utilizes GIS, Engineering, Asset Management skillsets with data science to help advance utilization of EAM data to make better decisions around maintenance and the replacement of assets. Support for operating agencies varies based on level of EAM deployment and augments analytical capacity within each agency. This team also seeks to highlight ‘best practices’ within agencies that could be more aggressively shared/deployed with other parties in the MTA.

This role will help with the digitization and creation of New Assets in GIS and EAM. This role will also utilize the Data Lake to create analytics leading to insightful use of EAM for the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use EAM and other data to help teams make better decisions and improve operations.

  • Analyze asset performance to identify failures, root causes, and opportunities to improve reliability and productivity.

  • Help identify ways to reduce costs and improve efficiency through process, resource, risk, and operational analysis.

  • Support improvement projects by using data to demonstrate opportunities, track results, and help address implementation challenges and develop best practices.

  • Collaborate with agency leaders, operations and maintenance teams, and analytics teams to solve problems and share useful insights.

  • Support better management of physical assets throughout their full life cycle, from planning and use through maintenance and replacement.

  • Help improve service quality and overall performance using EAM and other available data.

  • Create and maintain applications or tools that make day-to-day operations easier and more efficient.

PROJECTS:

  • The Outage Visualization Analysis Platform

  • Creation of new asset Feature Classes in GIS

  • KPI creation and other analytics to monitor maintenance performance

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.

  • The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.

  • The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA AND/OR matriculated in a graduate program in good standing with at least 2.8 GPA

  • Major(s) Preferred: Engineering, Computer Science, Geographic Info Systems (GIS), Transportation, Urban Planning, Information Science, or related field.
