Job Description

Join our team as a Joist Shop Worker, where you'll contribute to the assembly and fabrication of structural steel for bridge work in a dynamic manufacturing plant. This role involves operating welding machines and other machinery to ensure efficient production processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate weld machines and monitor their performance.

• Work collaboratively in an assembly line to produce joists.

• Read schematics to accurately assemble joists.

• Operate laser machines and other equipment as needed.

• Participate in a welding class after training on equipment.

• Perform cleaning and sweeping tasks as necessary.

• Handle materials and conduct touch-up painting.

Essential Skills

• Experience with weld machine operation.

• Ability to read and interpret schematics.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in MIG, TIG, or Stick welding is a plus.

• Experience or schooling in trades is beneficial.

• Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment with exposure to loud noises and dirt.

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing plant with a heavy industrial atmosphere. The environment can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, with exposure to loud noises and dirt. The role involves operating machinery and participating in safety training from day one. Shift schedules are 2nd shift, Monday to Friday, with mandatory Saturdays. Enjoy a differential pay of $3.00 for 2nd shift work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Point of Rocks, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.17 - $24.17/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
