How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

At Delta, we're transforming the future of aviation through innovative technology that enables safer, more efficient, and more connected operations. As a leader within Flight Operations, you will play a critical role in shaping and delivering the technology experiences that support our pilots every day. This position leads the strategy, delivery, and continuous evolution of Delta's Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) ecosystem, a portfolio of mission-critical pilot applications and tools that directly impact operational performance, safety, compliance, and the pilot experience.

The ideal candidate combines strong product leadership, technical acumen, operational awareness, and people leadership capabilities to drive meaningful outcomes across a complex stakeholder landscape. This role partners closely with Flight Operations leadership, technical pilots, frontline pilots, IT teams, and external technology vendors to define and execute a long-term vision for pilot-facing digital products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadproduct teams responsible for the strategy, development, deployment,support, and continuous improvement of mission-critical pilot-facingElectronic Flight Bag (EFB) applications, mobile platforms, and supportingtechnologies.

  • Establishand execute product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmaps that alignbusiness objectives, operational requirements, technology investments, anduser needs.

  • Partnerwith Flight Operations leadership, Delta IT teams, frontline pilots, andcross-divisional stakeholders to identify opportunities, gather feedback,prioritize enhancements, and deliver impactful technology solutions.

  • Ownprioritization decisions across the EFB portfolio, balancing operationalrisk, regulatory requirements, technical debt, innovation opportunities,customer experience, and business value.

  • Driveproduct planning activities including quarterly increment planning, annualinvestment planning, roadmap development, release planning, and executiongovernance.

  • Developbusiness cases, recommendations, and investment strategies that influenceexecutive-level decisions regarding product priorities, technologymodernization efforts, and resource allocation.

  • Managerelationships with key technology vendors and partners, including contractnegotiations, service-level management, performance reviews, productevaluations, and governance processes.

  • Ensureoperational readiness and reliability of pilot technology platforms,including business continuity planning, incident response coordination,risk management, and support model effectiveness.

  • Monitorproduct performance and health through operational metrics, customerfeedback, adoption trends, reliability measures, and business outcomes,using data to drive continuous improvement decisions.

  • Championuser-centered design principles by incorporating pilot feedback andoperational insights into product strategy and delivery decisions.

  • Collaboratewith architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and engineering teams toensure solutions meet enterprise standards for security, performance,scalability, and compliance.

  • Communicateproduct strategy, roadmap progress, risks, and key decisions to leaders atall levels of the organization, building alignment and stakeholderconfidence.

  • Lead,develop, and coach a high-performing team of product managers, analysts,and technology professionals, fostering a culture of ownership,accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

  • Establishteam objectives, performance expectations, and talent development plans whilesupporting employee engagement, career growth, and succession planning.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Possessa bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science,Engineering, Aviation, Business, or a related field, or an equivalentcombination of relevant experience.

  • Minimumof 7 years of experience in product management, technology leadership,program management, software delivery, or a related discipline.

  • Demonstratedexperience managing complex technology products, platforms, or portfolioswith multiple stakeholders, dependencies, and competing priorities.

  • Provenability to develop and execute product strategies and roadmaps thatdeliver measurable business and operational outcomes.

  • Experienceinfluencing decisions and communicating effectively with senior leadership,executives, technical teams, and business partners.

  • Strongunderstanding of Agile delivery methodologies, product lifecyclemanagement, and modern software development practices.

  • Experienceleading cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization and drivingalignment among diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Demonstratedanalytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-drivendecisions in complex operational environments.

  • Experiencemanaging third-party vendors, strategic partnerships, contracts, andservice-level agreements.

  • Abilityto balance strategic planning with execution and operational excellence.

  • Is atleast 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

  • Possessesa high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

  • Embracesdiverse people, thinking, and styles.

  • Consistentlyprioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Experiencesupporting airline operations, Flight Operations, crew technology,aviation technology platforms, or Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) solutions.

  • Experiencedelivering mobile applications and enterprise platforms used insafety-critical or highly regulated environments.

  • Knowledgeof airline operational processes, pilot workflows, regulatory compliancerequirements, and operational decision-making practices.

  • Experiencemanaging large-scale technology transformations, modernization programs,or digital product portfolios.

  • Familiaritywith Apple iOS ecosystem management, mobile device management (MDM), andenterprise mobility solutions.

  • Experienceworking within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or similar enterprisedelivery model.

  • MBA,master's degree, or advanced professional certifications in ProductManagement, Agile, Project Management, or Aviation.

  • Provenability to influence executive stakeholders and drive enterprise-widetechnology adoption.

  • Demonstrated ability to incorporate AI-driven capabilities, automation, and intelligent assistance tools into digital products to improve end-user effectiveness, adoption, and satisfaction.
