Accounting Manager

Description We are looking for an Accounting Manager to support key finance operations for a Contract position based in Bradford, Vermont. This role will oversee core accounting activities, ensure accurate reporting, and help maintain strong financial controls in a deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience across close activities, ledger management, reconciliations, and audit support.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly close process, coordinating timelines and reviewing financial data to ensure timely completion.

• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by reviewing account activity and resolving discrepancies.

• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and accounting accuracy.

• Perform detailed account reconciliations and investigate variances to support reliable financial reporting.

• Partner with internal and external auditors by organizing records and responding to audit-related requests.

• Review financial statements for completeness and consistency, identifying issues that require correction or follow-up. Requirements • Demonstrated experience managing month-end close activities in an accounting environment with strong attention to detail.

• Strong working knowledge of general ledger processes and financial reporting principles.

• Experience supporting financial statement audits and preparing required documentation.

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, variance analysis, and issue resolution.

• Hands-on ability to prepare and review journal entries accurately.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
