What you'll be challenged to do: During your internship,you will work on a highly functioning team and aid in providing design services for a wide variety of projects. You'll receive guidance, supervision and mentorship byexperienced engineers and professionalswith your success as the goal. The majority of our interns convert to full-time employees. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 1. Support real client projects by performing 3D modeling, design, and drafting for transportation structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and sign structures. 2. Assist in quantity calculations and contribute to cost estimates. 3. Aid in the development of construction contract documents and review shop and working drawings. 4. Coordinate work activities with other disciplines as directed. 5. Assist in reviewing inspection reports and performing bridge load ratings under supervision. Education | Experience: What you'll bring to our firm: 1. Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structures. 2. Demonstrated interest in bridge design through prior internships or applied academic coursework. 3. Basic understanding of bridge design principles. 4. Familiarity with CADD software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD. 5. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). 6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a design team. 7. Strong written and oral communication skills. What we prefer you bring: 1. Prior experience with 3D modeling software such as Revit, Civil 3D, and STADD. Compensation: The salary range for this role is $21.00 - $28.00 per hour.
