Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Service Manager to oversee the timely and effective servicing of company-owned and customer equipment. This individual will manage equipment repairs and preventative maintenance, organize the yard based on equipment status and ensure equipment is ready when customers need it. On a daily basis, they will schedule work, handle service calls, order and inventory parts, evaluate completed repairs, maintain service records and manage work orders and warranty claims. The Service Manager will also train mechanics, coordinate with equipment vendors, resolve customer concerns, promote safety and perform quality-control checks.

Skills and Requirements

  • Extensive experience repairing and maintaining self-propelled platforms and lifts
  • Experience planning work, creating schedules and coordinating service calls
  • Previous leadership, supervisory or service-management experience
  • Strong understanding of equipment capabilities and safety requirements
  • Knowledge of maintenance and repair issues within the equipment industry
  • Inventory management experience
  • Ability to train and assist mechanics
  • Experience maintaining equipment service records
  • Experience creating, updating, closing and billing work orders
  • Ability to manage parts ordering, returns and inventory
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience managing company-owned and customer equipment
  • Experience organizing equipment yards using statuses such as Ready to Rent, Returned and Down
  • Experience handling customer complaints related to equipment condition or operation
  • Experience filing warranty claims
  • Experience commissioning new equipment
  • Experience working directly with equipment vendors
  • Experience disposing of solid and hazardous materials, including batteries, used oil, filters, antifreeze and wash sludge
  • Experience tracking fleet status, equipment service records and open work orders
  • Experience producing financial, inventory and historical trend reports
  • Experience comparing technician paid hours with worked hours Strong quality-control and safety-awareness background
