Junior Software Engineer

{height="2" width="632"} Who We Are NagraStar LLC delivers and supports security solutions for satellite-based television systems. The Special Projects team builds interactive applications from end (server) to end (client), leveraging Java and the Spring framework alongside Rust, Golang, C++, QML, and JavaScript in an agile environment to maximize security and performance. Your Impact Collaborate with developers and QA engineers to build new features, solve complex technical challenges. You will contribute to architecture, hone your technical skills, and work across the entire stack, ranging from designing web tools to architecting set-top box applications. Responsibilities · Design, test, and ship features serving hundreds of thousands of daily users. · Write clean, performant, and maintainable code. · Adopt, embrace, and promote agile practices across the team. · Balance long-term architectural value with immediate delivery needs. · Perform code reviews and continuously refine development processes. Basic Requirements · Experience with software, web service, or web application development. · Proficiency with Java and the Spring framework. · Proficiency with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL). · Experience in at least one of the following: Rust, Golang, JavaScript, TypeScript, C, C++. · Ownership mentality and a team-first attitude. · Ability to multitask under changing priorities and shifting deadlines. Preferred Qualifications · 2+ years of development experience in one or more: Rust, Golang, JavaScript, TypeScript, C, C++, or Qt 5.x with QML. · 2+ years of software, web service, or web application development experience. · 2+ years of experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB. · Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native/containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). · Experience building and configuring CI pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, etc.). · Exposure to or experience with embedded systems.
