Full job description
CEDAR CITY CORPORATION is seeking certified law enforcement officers. This position will remain open until filled and applicants will be considered for hire upon receipt of their applications. JOB DESCRIPTION: Under general supervision, performs professional duties in enforcing federal, state and local laws to preserve the peace, and protect the rights and property of all people. Performs related responsibilities as required. See full job descriptions for details. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must be a United States Citizen or a legal permanent resident continuously for the past five years. 2. High school diploma or equivalent 3. Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment. 4. Must possess a valid Utah Driver License. 5. Must have no felony or domestic violence convictions. 6. Must pass and maintain department physical fitness standards. SALARY/BENEFITS: The starting wage with no experience is $29.14/hour or $60,617/annually. We give wage credit for experience up to ten years. The City participates in the Utah Retirement System and currently provides health, dental, vision and life insurance. OTHER BENEFITS: 1. Insurance premiums paid 100% by Cedar City. 2. Contributions to a Health Savings Account. 3. All equipment and uniforms, including dry cleaning, are provided. 4. Take home cars for employee's who live within 25 miles of the Cedar City Police Department. 5. Free access to city swimming pool, golf course and open horse-riding pass at the Cross Hollow Event Center for employee and dependent family members. 6. Twelve paid Holidays per year. 7. vacation & sick leave given upon hire 8. Compensatory (comp) time can be accrued. 9. Shift differential pay 10. Overtime available for hours worked over 80 in a 14-day pay period. 11. Free Police Gym membership for self /spouse/children age 12-18. 12. Educational Assistance Opportunities. 13.
