Description

Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a skilled nursing Facility that cares for the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Veterans. Our mission is to serve Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. We are looking for a self-motivated, energetic Nurse Aide who possesses the desire to care for Kentucky’s Veterans.

Expectations include but are not limited to:

  • Assist residents with personnel hygiene such as bathing, dental and oral care, hair and nail care.

  • Required to have an active status as a nurse aide on the KBN Nurse Aide Registry.

  • Assist residents with bowel and bladder functions by escorting to the bathroom, providing bedpan or portable commodes. Check and record intake and output flow charts.

  • Assist with meals and nourishment for residents requiring assistance and restorative dining.

  • Perform total physical care to include assisting with meals, as well as helping to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of our Veterans.

  • Measure and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration, and height, as instructed.

  • Collect and label specimens for laboratory analysis.

  • Strong interpersonal skills

This job requires mandatory COVID 19 vaccination or an approved exemption in accordance with CMS-3415-IFC from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. This means if appointed to the position, the applicant is required to have completed the primary vaccination series for COVID-19, which means the administration of a single-dose vaccine or the administration of all required doses of a multi-dose vaccine upon commencement of employment. The vaccine received must be one of the FDA-approved or FDA-authorized vaccines. Proof of vaccination will be required. If a medical or religious exemption is sought, the candidate must submit paperwork to the employer prior to appointment for review and approval.

This position, in organizational unit102202406, in Jessamine County has an approved Locality Premium of $6.96 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).

Working Conditions

Probationary Period
