Job Description:

About the Role:

We are seeking a Material Planner/Finite Scheduler based out of our Tonawanda, NY manufacturing facility, a manufacture of quality crackers. The Material Planner/Finite Scheduler manages material requirements planning and develops finite production schedules to ensure materials and production plans are aligned with customer demand, manufacturing requirements, capacity, inventory, working capital, and warehouse constraints. The role translates master schedules into executable daily line and shift schedules and partners with Procurement, Integrated Planning, Operations, Logistics, Warehousing, Quality, Maintenance, and Commercial teams to support production continuity, schedule execution, customer service, and planning accuracy.

You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain material planning assumptions and execute material requirements planning, including issuing purchase orders to support production needs.

  • Monitor supply plans and customer demand, assess the impact of plan changes on material requirements, and translate item-level master schedules into balanced, executable daily line and shift schedules.

  • Adjust finite production schedules based on material availability, customer orders, capacity, and plant requirements, and communicate schedule changes and risks to the Master Scheduler and Operations team.

  • Coordinate with Procurement, Integrated Planning, Operations, Logistics, Warehousing, Quality, Maintenance, and Commercial teams to align material supply, production priorities, and schedule execution.

  • Track back orders, material shortages, excess items, and slow-moving inventory, and coordinate corrective actions to protect production continuity and customer service.

  • Support component transitions for reformulations, redesigns, new product introductions, and item discontinuations by aligning material requirements, inventory plans, and production schedules.

  • Maintain planning-system setup, parameters, and details that support accurate material plans, executable schedules, inventory performance, customer service, and operational metrics.

  • Participate in daily production communication meetings, communicate material and schedule constraints, and support timely issue resolution.

  • Analyze supplier performance, inventory trends, schedule performance, and planning outcomes to improve service, reduce waste, optimize inventory turns, increase productivity, and improve planning and scheduling processes.

  • This is a full-time, onsite role.

  • The anticipated compensation for this position ranges from $63,000.00 - 94,400.00 USD annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics and business or organizational needs. For certain roles, the successful candidate may be eligible for annual discretionary merit compensation award, bonus and equity pay.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field is preferred.

  • Minimum of 2+ years of supply chain, production scheduling, demand planning, material planning, inventory planning, or operations experience is required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

  • Experience with ERP systems and Power BI is preferred.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills are required.
