CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Platform Engineering and Automation Design, build, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines that support automated build, test, and deployment workflows using GitLab CI/CD and standardized Git workflows. Develop and maintain reusable pipeline templates, infrastructure modules, and automation patterns that enable consistent and efficient delivery across teams. Continuously improve deployment speed, reliability, and quality through automation and tooling enhancements. Cloud Infrastructure and Kubernetes Operations Design, provision, and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), with a primary focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Deploy, operate, and maintain Kubernetes clusters, particularly Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), ensuring high availability, scalability, and resilience. Package and manage Kubernetes applications using Helm charts and established deployment standards. Collaborate with engineering teams to support cloud-native application architectures and runtime requirements. Reliability, Monitoring, and Incident Response Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system performance, availability, and operational visibility (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring). Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to restore service and prevent recurrence. Contribute to fault-tolerant and resilient system designs that support production reliability and operational excellence. Security and Compliance Enablement Apply secure-by-design principles across CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and Kubernetes environments, including secrets management, access controls, and least-privilege IAM. Collaborate with security and platform stakeholders to integrate vulnerability scanning, configuration hardening, and compliance requirements into delivery workflows. Support organizational security, audit, and compliance initiatives by ensuring infrastructure and deployment processes are auditable, repeatable, and well-documented. Collaboration and Documentation Work closely with software engineers, QA, and platform stakeholders to understand delivery needs and remove friction from the development lifecycle. Document infrastructure designs, deployment patterns, operational procedures, and architectural decisions to support knowledge sharing and long-term maintainability.
