Salary Range: $20.00 To $25.00 Hourly

(Greenville, SC Plant)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)

Position Summary
The Color / Tinter performs color tinting on production and lab batches of coating products to meet customer color specifications in accordance with established health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Successful candidates must achieve acceptable scores on both the color matching and math assessments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Shades/ tints production and lab batches.

Evaluates batches for conformance to color specifications.

Adjust color of individual batches within formulation guidelines.

Prepares customer samples and panels.
-
May be required to put together small batches of material for testing and customer requirements.

Maintains records of processes and results.
-
Document and record all actions taken in preparation of product.

Records batch information on appropriate computer programs.

As part of the housekeeping procedures, the employee may be involved with the disposal of hazardous waste. The initial training of how to properly dispose of hazardous waste will be performed by the Environmental and Safety department or the department supervisor. Annual training of the same will be performed by the EHS department.

Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.

Clean up equipment and properly store equipment.

Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
Qualification Requirements
-
Preferred education level: Associate’s or two-year college degree or equivalent.
-
Preferred experience level: One to three years’ experience in a laboratory setting preferred and preferably in coatings.
Skills and Abilities
-
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook), ERP system and other office machinery.

Basic math skills.
-
Excellent color vision.
-
Superb written and verbal communication skills.
-
Excellent math skills including metric to standard conversions.
-
Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals.
-
Excellent team building and communications skills.
-
Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner.

Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Our facility offers a state-of-the-art, climate-controlled environment supported by advanced HVAC systems that maintain optimal temperature and humidity levels.
Physical Demands

Regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly in a manufacturing or operational setting.

Frequently required to stand, walk, and move throughout the work area.

Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, manipulate, and control objects, tools, or equipment.
-
Required to sit, balance, stoop, and occasionally reach above shoulder level.
-
Occasional operation of machinery using foot controls
-
May be required to climb, balance, and reach overhead as part of job duties.
-
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 65 lbs.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
-
Safety shoes, safety glasses, and flame-retardant uniforms or lab coats are required in production areas.

Respirators and ear plugs are required for specific production processes.
