Job Description
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the validation, testing, debugging, and integration of electrical hardware systems used in our cloud infrastructure platforms.
This role focuses on hands-on electrical validation, board-level troubleshooting, signal and power integrity analysis, and hardware test automation. The engineer will work with high-speed electrical test equipment to evaluate hardware performance, identify electrical issues, and support root-cause investigations.
The position involves close collaboration with hardware design, firmware, software, and diagnostics teams to ensure the performance, reliability, and successful integration of server hardware. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on lab work, analyzing electrical signals, and solving complex hardware problems.
Responsibilities
-
Support electrical hardware validation, testing, debugging, and integration of analog and digital systems and subsystems.
-
Execute electrical validation and characterization tests to evaluate hardware performance, signal quality, and reliability.
-
Perform electrical signal-quality measurements, including jitter, noise, timing, and waveform analysis, using high-speed oscilloscopes, differential probes, logic analyzers, and network analyzers.
-
Assist in identifying, isolating, and troubleshooting board-level electrical issues, including signal integrity, power integrity, and high-speed signaling problems.
-
Support structured root-cause investigations through electrical measurements, test data analysis, and hardware debugging techniques.
-
Develop, configure, and maintain hardware test setups and validation environments for prototype testing, system integration, and reliability testing.
-
Support test automation activities, including developing and maintaining Python scripts, automated test procedures, and data collection workflows.
-
Analyze validation results, document findings, and collaborate with engineering teams to investigate anomalies and verify corrective actions.
-
Review electrical schematics, board layouts, and hardware specifications to support troubleshooting, validation, and subsystem integration.
-
Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, and diagnostics teams to resolve electrical performance and system integration issues.
-
Assist with sustaining engineering activities, including hardware failure analysis, customer escalations, component qualification, and end-of-life component management.
-
Participate in design and validation reviews, providing feedback on electrical performance, test coverage, and potential hardware improvements.
-
Create and maintain technical documentation, including test plans, validation reports, troubleshooting procedures, and electrical measurement results.
-
Support electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), compliance, and pre-compliance testing activities as needed.
-
Contribute to continuous improvement of electrical validation processes, test methodologies, and hardware troubleshooting workflows.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications

-
Knowledge of electrical signal integrity, power integrity, and frequency-domain analysis concepts.
-
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot board-level signaling and electrical performance issues.
-
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, analyze waveforms, and investigate hardware failures.
-
Experience with hardware validation procedures, test execution, and analysis of electrical measurement data.
-
Experience working with Linux and Windows operating systems.
-
Experience with Python or a similar object-oriented programming language.
-
Strong analytical, diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines.
