Raw Material Analyst/Chemist
Location: Summit, NJ
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday | First Shift | Core Business Hours
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Pay Rate: Up to $26/hour
Job Type: Long term contract
Position Overview
A leading consumer health and beauty company is seeking a Raw Material Analyst/Chemist to support laboratory testing and analytical activities for cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career chemist or chemical engineer to gain hands-on experience in a regulated laboratory environment.
The successful candidate will perform raw material release testing, analyze laboratory results, prepare technical documentation, and support project teams with analytical data that impacts product specifications and change controls.
Key Responsibilities

Perform raw material release testing and other analytical testing for cosmetic and pharmaceutical products.

Conduct instrumental and wet chemistry testing using analytical laboratory techniques and instrumentation.

Analyze and critically evaluate test results to ensure accurate and reliable data.

Utilize instrumentation such as HPLC, UPLC, GC, FT-IR, and UV/VIS as applicable.

Prepare detailed reports and summaries of analytical results for project leadership.

Compile and organize centralized analytical data and reports.

Support technical documentation and author analytical documentation as needed.

Manage assigned laboratory workload to meet project timelines and deliverables.

Provide analytical support for activities impacting product specifications and change controls .

Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation in accordance with applicable procedures.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.

Approximately 0–3 years of relevant laboratory or analytical experienceHands-on laboratory experience with analytical testing and instrumentation.

Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret analytical results.
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-
Experience preparing technical reports and laboratory documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with chromatography , particularly HPLC, UPLC, or GC.
-
Experience with wet chemistry techniques.
-
Exposure to cosmetic, pharmaceutical, consumer health, or other regulated laboratory environments.

Familiarity with raw material testing, product specifications, or change controls.
