Basic Job Functions:
The Accounting Manager is a key member of the division leadership team. The will work with the Controller to lead and develop the finance team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, tax, financial and compliance reporting, forecasting, annual budgeting, monthly balancing, inventory management, and the recording and timely reporting of accounting records and transactions.
This position will also take a lead role in the implementation, communication, and interpretation of accounting and financial policies; control and system improvements; supervision of external and internal audit processes; and ensuring that proper internal controls are maintained. The Accounting Manager will provide analytical support to other departments on accounting issues, drive continuous cost improvements across all aspects of the business, and lead training, development, and growth opportunities for finance department teammates.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and execute accounting activities, including general ledger, fixed assets, accounts payable, tax, financial and compliance reporting, and inventory management.

Lead the implementation, communication, and interpretation of accounting and financial policies while ensuring GAAP compliance and system improvements.

Supervise internal and external audit processes and maintain proper internal controls.

Prepare forecasts, assist with annual budgeting, and support monthly financial reporting and balancing.

Provide analytical support to other departments and help drive continuous cost improvements.

Develop an in-depth understanding of the production environment and serve as the financial liaison with the division management team.

Train, develop, and provide growth opportunities for finance department teammates.

Contribute to the development of teammates across all departments and serve as an active member of the division leadership team.

Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.

Minimum of three years of work experience in a financial-related position.

Per Personnel Policy #21, must not be related to any employee of Vulcraft of Indiana.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
CPA, CMA, master's degree, or MBA.
-
Manufacturing or cost accounting experience.
-
Leadership experience.
-
SAP experience.
-
Willingness to relocate for future career opportunities within Nucor.
