Full job description
We want to build agents that autonomously validate code changes. Today that looks like AI that reviews pull requests in GitHub, catching bugs and enforcing standards. Greptile reviews 5B lines of code every month for 22,000+ customers. We’re hiring a Head of Talent to scale our engineering and GTM teams following our Series B. You’ll own recruiting across the company, build and coach a lean recruiting team, and personally run our hardest searches from sourcing through close. You should want to stay hands-on in recruiting. We’re looking for someone with the judgment to recognize exceptional people, the credibility to win them over, and the ability to help other recruiters do the same. Trajectory
-
22,000+ customers
-
5B lines of code reviewed every month
-
Raised $80M from Menlo Ventures, Benchmark, Y Combinator, and Initialized
Responsibilities
-
Personally source, assess, and close exceptional engineers, GTM hires, and leaders
-
Build, hire, and coach a small, high-performing recruiting team across technical and GTM recruiting
-
Work with founders and hiring managers to define what each role needs and how we will assess it before starting a search
-
Turn company priorities into a hiring plan, with clear targets and realistic recruiting capacity by function
-
Build interview processes that test whether people can do the work, train interviewers, and hold a consistent hiring bar
-
Use funnel data, hiring outcomes, and candidate feedback to diagnose stalled searches and improve how we hire
-
Develop sourcing channels through direct outreach, referrals, and founder and investor networks
-
Own external search partners and recruiting tools, using AI to remove manual work without losing personal judgment or candidate care
-
Give candidates a thoughtful, fast-moving experience from the first conversation through joining
Qualifications
-
8+ years of recruiting experience at technology companies, including leading a recruiting team through rapid growth
-
Experience leading both technical and GTM recruiting, with a track record of hiring strong engineers and salespeople
-
Recent, hands-on experience running difficult searches yourself, from finding candidates to closing offers
-
A track record of attracting, recognizing, and developing excellent recruiters
-
Strong recruiting judgment and the ability to explain what made a hire successful, what you got wrong, and what you changed
-
Credibility with founders, engineering leaders, and GTM leaders, including the ability to challenge an unclear hiring bar constructively
-
Comfortable building a lean function and moving between individual searches, coaching, and hiring plans
-
Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate, and able to work from our office five days a week
Nice to have
-
Experience building a recruiting function at a high-growth startup
-
Experience recruiting for AI or developer-tools companies
-
Experience with executive searches and building long-term relationships with leaders before a role opens
You’ll like working here if
-
You want to build an exceptional team while staying close to the work yourself
-
You care about the people we hire and how they perform, not just how many roles we fill
-
You enjoy working directly with founders and hiring managers on difficult searches
-
The pace and ambiguity of a fast-growing AI company are exciting to you
-
You prefer working in person with a small, ambitious team
