Under immediate supervision of certified teaching staff, subject specialists, a Program Director, and/or a physical therapist, the Education Assistant supports structured education for students with special needs in a regular classroom. Assignments may involve students with severe multiple impairments at any grade level. The role is based at Canyon View Elementary School and is scheduled for 33.5 hours per week over 10 months and 188 paid work days per year.

Performs work of moderate difficulty assisting in the structured education of students with special needs within a regular classroom setting. Assignment may be with severely multiply impaired students of any grade level.\ Hiring Pay Range: $19.81 - $21.03 per hour DOE\ FTE: .8375 33.5 hours per week Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:30 am 3:00pm; Tuesday: 7:30 am 1:30 pm\ 10 months, 188 paid work days per year Minimum Required Qualifications: Associates degree preferred and six (6) months of experience working with children that have special needs. Special Requirements: Must possess or have the ability to obtain Level I-IVPP Fingerprint Clearance card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety; CPR certificate and First Aid certificate are required within one (1) year of hire. Must be willing to support feeding and toileting of students with training. Target Start Date: ASAP Location: Canyon View Elementary School
