Full job description

Description We are looking for an accomplished Controller to oversee financial operations for a manufacturing organization in Horsham, Pennsylvania. This position will guide core accounting activities, deliver reliable financial reporting, and provide meaningful analysis that supports operational and strategic decisions. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in manufacturing finance, a strong command of cost accounting, and the leadership skills needed to strengthen processes, mentor staff, and drive performance across the accounting function.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the daily work of the accounting team, aligning workloads, priorities, and team structure with business objectives and department goals.

  • Produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements along with management reporting that supports informed decision-making.

  • Lead the planning cycle for budgets and forecasts, including revenue, operating expenses, and cash flow projections.

  • Review actual results against budgets and forecasts, identify notable variances, and present actionable insights to leadership.

  • Assess financial performance across costs, revenue trends, commitments, and obligations to support business planning and operational strategy.

  • Oversee inventory, job, and product costing within the ERP environment, ensuring accuracy in manufacturing-related financial data.

  • Manage general ledger activity, including journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed assets, and the monthly close process.

  • Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to promote timely disbursements, collections, and strong cash management.

  • Establish and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, chart of accounts integrity, and organized financial documentation, while coordinating external audit activities.

  • Coach and develop accounting staff, lead departmental initiatives, and contribute to process improvements and other high-priority finance projects as needed. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, or 8+ years with a master’s degree.

  • At least 4 years of experience leading or managing accounting or finance teams.

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred; semiconductor industry exposure is a plus.

  • Strong working knowledge of Epicor ERP is preferred; experience with comparable manufacturing ERP platforms will also be considered.

  • Demonstrated expertise in cost accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close activities.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel, with the ability to analyze data and prepare clear financial reports.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
