Full job description

Why We Need You Over the past year, GovEagle has built strong product-market fit (5x revenue) and a customer base that loves us (10x DAU). Our customers, from defense primes to top federal integrators, run their RFP lifecycle on GovEagle inside FedRAMP and AWS GovCloud environments. Today the product thinking that connects what those customers need to what engineering builds sits with our CTO. We are hiring a high-slope generalist to work directly with the CTO and take over that ground. The core of the job is product: talk to customers, decide what matters, write specs engineering can build from, and make sure what ships lands. Around that core you will run the engineering team's operating cadence with the CTO and own the numbers that tell us whether customers are healthy. We are betting on trajectory over years of experience; this is a role for someone who wants to learn how a company gets built by sitting next to the person building it. What you'll do

  • Own the product loop. Run customer discovery and call reviews, turn what you hear into prioritized specs, and own features from definition through launch and adoption.
  • Run the engineering cadence. With the CTO, run cycle planning and the priorities doc, keep Linear honest, and own release readiness: QA checklists, dogfooding, and the call on whether a release ships.
  • Own customer health. Define and track new-user retention, stickiness, and account health on our analytics dashboard; build warning flags for at-risk accounts and run projects to move whatever is lagging.
  • Be the customer's technical voice. Triage support escalations, close the loop on post-call action items, and take the technical half of demos and trials.
  • Build with AI. Prototype fixes, internal tools, and integrations yourself with AI coding tools; ship in days what used to take a sprint.

Who we're looking for

  • AI maximalist: Claude Code, Cursor, or similar are how you build, and you have shipped real things that way. We care about what you can build, not years on a resume.
  • Have shipped something to real users: a startup you founded, a product you built on a small team, or customer work as a forward deployed or solutions engineer.
  • Technical enough to read code, debug a failing integration, and hold your own with engineers; no formal CS degree required.
  • Write clearly enough that a customer's IT lead and our engineers act on the same doc.
  • High agency and steep slope: you learn fast, chase feedback, and would be comfortable running a company someday.
  • U.S. citizen (required): this role works inside customer environments subject to export controls.
  • Able to work in person in New York City four days a week.

Nice to have: A startup of your own, or a side project real people use. No government or GovCon background needed; we'll teach you the domain. What success looks like in your first 90 days

  • 30 days: Shadowed the CTO on every customer and planning call; reviewed every discovery transcript from the last quarter; shipped your first fix with AI tools.
  • 60 days: Running cycle planning and release QA; first spec shipped by engineering; customer health flags live for every account.
  • 90 days: Own one product area end to end; the CTO is out of the weekly customer support loop; engineering's priorities doc is yours.

About GovEagle GovEagle's AI platform helps government contractors win more work. Our AI agents dramatically reduce RFP response times by helping teams shred requirements, build compliance matrices, deliver exhaustive outlines, and draft compelling narratives. We're well capitalized ($10M from Y Combinator, Strategic Cyber Ventures, Sorenson Capital, and others) and based in NYC. Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Generous PTO

How we hire: a founder conversation, a product interview built from a real customer case (bring your AI tools), and a half-day onsite. About two weeks start to finish. Why join us

  • High ownership: we hire smart people and get out of the way.
  • AI-native: get deep on the frontier of AI agents, in the product and in how we work.
  • Customer love: work directly with customers who are getting real value.
  • Team: we're in person in NYC. Here we are at the holiday party.

Note: Don't meet every qualification? Apply anyway; we value high-agency self-starters who love to learn.
