Job Description

Our client, a leader in aircraft completions and modifications, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead the Electrical Systems Engineering organization supporting VIP and specialty aircraft programs.

This role is responsible for leading a growing team of engineers focused on electrical systems architecture, aircraft modifications, system integration, certification documentation, and engineering execution. The ideal candidate combines strong people leadership with a solid engineering foundation and a passion for developing high-performing teams.

Unlike traditional project-focused leadership roles, this position requires a manager who prioritizes employee development, coaching, performance management, and organizational growth while providing oversight across multiple active aircraft programs.

What You'll Be Doing Lead and Develop Engineering Teams Directly lead, mentor, and develop a growing team of Electrical Systems Engineers. Conduct performance reviews, career development planning, coaching conversations, and regular one-on-one meetings. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Support hiring, workforce planning, succession planning, and team growth initiatives. Drive Engineering Execution Oversee engineering activities supporting aircraft modification and completion programs. Provide leadership across electrical systems architecture, system integration, electrical load analysis, wiring design, functional schematics, and certification documentation. Ensure engineering deliverables meet schedule, quality, compliance, and customer requirements. Partner with engineering leads and principal engineers to resolve technical challenges and maintain program execution. Support Program and Business Growth Provide oversight across multiple concurrent aircraft programs. Participate in project planning, resource allocation, forecasting, and proposal activities. Collaborate with Program Management, Manufacturing, Certification, and Executive Leadership to achieve business objectives. Help scale and mature engineering processes as the organization continues to grow. Technical Leadership Guide engineers through complex aircraft systems integration challenges. Support development and certification of electrical systems for aircraft modification projects. Leverage industry best practices to improve engineering efficiency, quality, and consistency. Serve as a trusted advisor for technical and organizational decision-making.

Skills and Requirements

Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related engineering discipline. 5+ years of aerospace engineering experience. 2+ years of direct people leadership experience managing engineering teams. Experience conducting performance reviews, employee coaching, development planning, and team mentorship. Experience supporting aircraft modifications, completions, interiors, or systems integration programs. Strong understanding of engineering design processes, certification environments, and aircraft development lifecycles. Proven ability to lead engineering teams while balancing technical, business, and people priorities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with aircraft electrical systems architecture and integration. Experience supporting VIP, business aviation, or large aircraft modification programs. Knowledge of electrical load analysis, wiring diagrams, functional schematics, and aircraft certification processes. Experience leading teams of 8+ engineers in a fast-paced aerospace environment. Background with Boeing, Airbus, business aviation, MRO, completions, modifications, or aircraft interiors organizations. Previous experience building or scaling engineering organizations during periods of rapid growth.
