Salary Range: $73,000.00 To $83,000.00 Annually
Job Purpose
Provide specialized accounting support for the company’s Human Resources function. You will directly contribute to the financial close process by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for HR-related costs (payroll, medical, benefits, and workers’ compensation), analyzing financial results, and providing actionable data to management.
Essential Functions

Lead the preparation of journal entries and accounting support for payroll, benefits, medical, and workers’ compensation during the enterprise monthly close.

Analyze and perform complex balance sheet reconciliations involving multi-step processes or large datasets. Research and resolve discrepancies with minimal supervision.

Maintain prepaid and accrual accounts, collaborating with internal departments and third-party specialists to ensure proper amortization and recording of expenses.

Support ERP system integrations and assist with acquisition-related accounting and integration activities.

Assist with compiling external audit requests and ensure all processes promote strong fiscal period controls.

Work with various departments to obtain information/approvals and serve as backup for other accounting team members.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (strongly preferred) or Finance.

Experience: 2+ years of hands-on General Ledger accounting experience. Must have direct experience "owning" a piece of the month-end close process (not just reviewing it).

Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of US GAAP, specifically regarding accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets. Experience in a manufacturing or high-volume inventory environment is a significant plus.

ERP Mastery: Proficiency in SAP or a similar Tier-1 ERP system. Candidate must understand how sub-ledgers (AP/AR/Inventory) feed into the General Ledger.

Excel "Power User": Must be comfortable managing large datasets.

Required: Advanced use of Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP.

Preferred: Experience with Power Query or building complex data-reconciliation templates.

Analytical Rigor: Demonstrated ability to perform Variance Analysis—not just identifying that a number changed but researching why it changed.

Operational Mindset: Ability to collaborate with non-finance partners (like Production or Warehouse managers) to gather data and resolve discrepancies.

Deadline Driven: Proven track record of meeting strict "Day 3" or "Day 5" month-end close deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
