Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer(s).
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
-
Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies
-
Assist nurses and medical assistants to ensure quality care and measures are provided to patients
-
Operate office equipment, such as voice mail messaging systems, and use word processing, spreadsheet, or other software applications to prepare reports, letters, case histories, or medical records
-
Interview patients to complete documents, case histories, or forms, such as intake or insurance forms, PA’s, and denial appeals
-
Receive and route messages or documents, such as laboratory results, to appropriate staff or patients
-
Explain medications, diets, or providers' instructions to patients
-
Compile and record medical charts, reports, or correspondence
-
Transmit correspondence or medical records by mail, e-mail, or fax
-
Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as scanning, scheduling, placing orders per the providers request, maintaining information files and processing paperwork, such as, sports physicals, health appraisals, FMLA, and disability forms

Entering, and maintaining information in written or electronic form related to patient care
-
Patient and bucket follow-up
-
Monthly completion of compliance training

Other duties as assigned
Required:
-
High School Diploma or GED
-
Minimum of two (2) years of medical office/hospital setting experience
-
Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- Medical Assistant Certification
