Mechanical Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

Job Description POSITION SUMMARY The Intern- Mechanical Engineering role provides hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of engineering within a specific industry. Interns typically work closely with experienced engineers, assisting them with ongoing projects, conducting research, and contributing to the development of testing products or systems. The successful candidate will have the chance to apply theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom to real-world engineering challenges, gaining valuable practical skills and insights. Additionally, they will receive mentorship and guidance from senior engineers, helping them to further develop their technical abilities and professional network within the field of engineering. The Intern- Mechanical Engineer will contribute and support the design and release of customizations to Thermal/HVAC chillers; will work in a cross-functional development group and help manage a variety of tasks and activities that are required in a dynamic product development and sustaining environment. RESPONSIBILITIES * Create customizations of chillers as laid out by customer specifications. * Collaborate across the disciplines of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering, as well as production and offering teams. * Perform a variety of engineering design verifications using traditional engineering methods and CAD programs. * Develops solutions to complex problems where little or no precedence exists - the use of ingenuity and creativity is regularly required * Review completed CAD and schematic drafting to verify design intent Requirements: * Currently pursing a degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or directly related degree preferred * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Demonstrated work ethic and detail-orientation * Strong analytical and critical thinking skills * Ability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment and produce high-quality work * Collaboration and teamwork. #LI-RB1 About Us The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv's Core Principles & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.
