Full job description
Description We are looking for a Benefits Assistant to join our team in Scarsdale, New York in a Contract position. This role supports daily benefits administration and serves as a key resource for employees who need guidance on benefit programs, leave matters, and related processes. The ideal candidate brings strong coordination skills, attention to detail, and hands-on experience assisting with benefits operations in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:

Coordinate day-to-day benefits activities, including enrollment updates, status changes, and record maintenance across benefit programs.

Support COBRA-related processes by tracking eligibility, preparing required documentation, and helping ensure timely follow-up on continuation coverage matters.

Assist with leave of absence administration by monitoring requests, maintaining accurate records, and communicating next steps to employees and internal partners.

Respond to employee questions regarding health, welfare, and other benefit offerings with clear and helpful guidance.

Review benefits data for accuracy, reconcile discrepancies, and help maintain organized documentation for audits and reporting needs.

Partner with HR and external providers to help resolve benefit issues and ensure smooth delivery of services.

Contribute to compensation and benefits support activities by helping track information and preparing materials as needed.

Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information and benefit-related records. Requirements • Prior experience supporting benefits administration, benefits coordination, or a related human resources function.

Working knowledge of COBRA processes and employee leave of absence administration.

Familiarity with compensation and benefits practices, including employee support and record management.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines consistently.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills when working with employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail in processing benefit information and maintaining documentation.
