Job Title: Director of Projects

Location: Remote with customer and site meetings, as required

Reports to: General Manager

Overview: The Director of Projects provides strategic oversight and direction to the estimating and project management effort by supporting new business opportunities, maintaining and developing customer relationships, RFP management, competitive bidding, proposal coordinating, contract negotiation, along with, progress tracking through completion and invoicing. This role supports all customer and project needs, outside the actual execution of the work, which falls under the Regional operations groups.

Responsibilities:

  • StrategicLeadership&BusinessDevelopment:Developandimplementstrategiesfornewworkgeneration and client acquisition. Oversee objectives and resource allocation for the project management and estimating team, focusing on the winning, planning and financial success of projects.

  • Client & Stakeholder Relations: Act as a primary contact for key client relationships, ensuring high satisfaction. Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss proposals, progress, and address inquiries regarding costs and timelines.

  • Bidding&PreconstructionOversight:Provideleadershiptotheestimatingdepartment,ensuringaccurateand timely cost estimates, comprehensive bid packages, and contract compliance. Review and approve all bids and project proposals.

  • Project Controls & Financial Management: Assume overall responsibility for project financials across the portfolio, including pricing, costs, margins, and budget creation. Utilize systems for tracking progress, managing project reporting, and compiling all project billings.

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to project managers, estimators, and field engineers within the division. Oversee team schedules, delegate tasks, monitor performance,andfosteracultureofcollaborationandaccountabilitywithinandwithRegionpersonnel.

  • RiskManagement &Compliance: Evaluate project risks and uncertaintiesduringthe planningphase to develop mitigation plans and pricing adjustments as needed. Ensure permits, legal documents, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance are secured ahead of project execution.

  • Process Improvement: Analyze project metrics related to business acquisition, profitability, and billing cycles to identify operational improvements and cost savings for future projects.
