Make a Difference Before, During & After Surgery
Are you an experienced Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys caring for patients throughout their surgical journey?
Geneva General Hospital’s FL Surgery Center is seeking an RN to join our Pre/Post/PACU team!
In this role, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients before and after procedures, as well as in the post-anesthesia recovery setting. You will play a critical role in ensuring patients are safe, comfortable, informed, and prepared throughout their surgical experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who enjoys critical thinking, teamwork, patient education, and hands-on clinical care in a collaborative surgical environment.
What You'll Do
As a Pre/Post/PACU RN, you will:

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care throughout the patient's surgical experience.

Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor patients before and after procedures.

Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
-
Monitor patients closely for changes in condition and respond appropriately to clinical needs.
-
Provide post-anesthesia recovery care and ensure patients meet appropriate discharge criteria.
-
Apply strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills in a fast-paced environment.
-
Utilize cardiac monitoring and specialized equipment necessary for the care of procedural and post-operative patients.
-
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

Provide patients and families with clear education regarding recovery, medications, self-care, lifestyle changes, and discharge instructions.
-
Promote patient safety, dignity, comfort, and emotional well-being.
-
Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and Joint Commission standards.
-
Demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, and effective communication with patients, families, coworkers, and the public.
-
Participate in an environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Work occasional on-call shifts as required.
What We're Looking For Required
-
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
-
Current New York State RN license or New York State limited permit to practice professional nursing.
-
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
-
Strong clinical judgment, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
-
Commitment to patient safety and compassionate, patient-centered care.
-
Ability to provide care to patients across the lifespan, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
Preferred
-
1 year of critical care experience.
-
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
-
Experience in Pre-Op, Post-Op, PACU, ICU, ED, or another critical-care environment.
-
CAPA or CPAN certification, recommended within two years.
-
Experience with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office products.
Certifications
-
BLS, ACLS, and PALS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.
-
Basic Coronary Care certification required within six months of hire.
-
CAPA or CPAN certification recommended within two years.
