Accountant - Entry Level

Description We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to join our team in Irvine, California in a contract capacity with potential for a permanent role. This opportunity is well suited for someone who is highly organized, accurate in their work, and eager to build hands-on experience across core accounting functions. The role will support daily financial operations by assisting with reconciliations, payables, receivables, and general ledger activities while helping maintain timely and accurate records.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices, assign appropriate accounting codes, and support timely accounts payable activities.

• Prepare and review bank and account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and ensure balances are accurate.

• Record journal entries and other accounting transactions with careful attention to detail and supporting documentation.

• Assist with accounts receivable tasks, including tracking incoming payments and resolving routine account differences.

• Create purchase orders and help verify that related documentation aligns with company records.

• Perform audits of open orders by comparing reports and reviewing outstanding items for accuracy and follow-up.

• Help clear backlogged credit card entries by organizing transactions and posting them correctly to the appropriate accounts.

• Support general ledger maintenance, expense tracking, and periodic review of account activity to keep records current. Requirements • Experience or foundational knowledge in accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and account reconciliation.

• Familiarity with accounts receivable processes and preparing basic accounting entries.

• Ability to create and post journal entries accurately and maintain organized financial records.

• Working knowledge of invoice coding and documentation review.

• Experience using QuickBooks Desktop or similar accounting software.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Basic understanding of general ledger structure and expense accounting principles.
