Health Support Specialist - Early Head Start

Exciting opportunity to join Riverside Community Care as a Health Support Specialist - Early Head Start!

In this vital role, the Health Support Specialist is responsible for supporting the program in meeting or exceeding all relevant Head Start Performance Standards and assisting program staff in delivering high-quality services and programming within the program and community settings.

The Health Support Specialist will:

  • manage transportation and maintenance of the REHS van

  • maintain facility certifications

  • manage safety drills and necessary equipment

  • support socialization groups

  • assist during parent meetings, Policy Council and off-site events

  • shop for and prepare program’s CACFP nutritional offering as necessary

  • perform mandatory program reporting

  • assist in the development and completion of program specific projects

Schedule: Full-Time Monday through Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Pay Rate:

  • High School Diploma

  • $20.60/hour

  • $21.56/hour with bilingual language skills

  • Associate's Degree:

  • $22.08/hour

  • $23.04/hour with bilingual language skills

  • Bachelor's Degree:

  • $22.84/hour

  • $23.80/hour with bilingual language skills

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of database software; Internet software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software and Order Processing Systems

  • Ability to speak Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, Nepali, or community supported language preferred

  • Current Massachusetts driver’s license and access to a reliable transportation

  • Must receive background check clearance for Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI), Sex Offender Register Check (SORI), Finger Printing and Department of Children and Families

Required Experience

  • Must have a minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent

  • One to two year’s related experience with families with very young children preferred

  • Must have experience with a variety of cultures and languages and with low-income populations

  • Must be certified in Pediatric CPR/First Aid
