Job Title: Coordinated Support SpecialistAgency: Department of Education Job Requisition ID: JR0000005819Shift: Not Applicable (United States of America)Compensation Details: COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE Job Description: The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) – Office of Federal Programs is recruiting for a Coordinated Support Specialist. Under broad supervision, this position coordinates streamlined service and support initiatives for Local Education Agencies (LEAs) implementing federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) formula grant programs, including Title I, Part A; Title II, Part A; Title III, Part A; Title IV, Part A; and Title V, Part B.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Implementing a streamlined service and support model by serving as the LEA's primary point of contact for multiple federal programs and providing coordinated support focused on continuous improvement.
- Collaborating with colleagues to ensure consistency and alignment across programs in key components of the federal grant cycle, including planning, budgeting, monitoring, and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Developing and delivering high-quality training and technical assistance to LEAs.
- Designing and creating resources, tools, and guidance documents to support LEAs with federal grant management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintaining clear, professional, and positive communication with LEAs and across GaDOE divisions and units.
- Preparing accurate reports, correspondence, and documentation related to assigned program areas.
This is an office-based telework position located in Atlanta, Georgia. Occasional statewide travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Georgia Professional Educator Certification.
- Knowledge of state and federal education regulations, including Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and the Code of Federal Regulations.
- Experience with consolidating federal, state, and local funding sources in Title I schoolwide programs.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and group communication skills.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting data using a variety of software applications and tools.
- Demonstrated initiative, leadership, and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, school personnel, students, support agencies, and community organizations.
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority assignments in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/GED and seven (7) years of program management experience; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Education Prgm Spec 3 (EDP032) or position equivalent.
