Your opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us challenge the status quo and transform the finance industry together. We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

The Wealth Offers & Operations Business Planning & Analysis team is responsible for the strategic planning, business analysis, and capacity management of our wealth management delivery professionals at Schwab. We work, think, and approach problems differently than a traditional financial services firm, and we drive change in how Schwab operates and how the industry serves investors. We aim to serve a wide range of investors with premier wealth management solutions that are needs-based, modern, innovative, accessible, and value-oriented. In this role, you will support business growth while helping ensure the sustainable delivery of a consistent wealth management experience comprised of people, process, and technology to serve clients at scale.

We are seeking a dynamic Sr. Manager, WSG Capacity & Business Strategy expert to build and manage capacity planning capabilities for the Wealth Strategies Group. This role requires a highly resourceful, self-driven individual with the ability to independently execute complex work, translate data into action, and build alignment across WSG leaders and enterprise partners.

Key Outcomes:

  • Own capacity management and workforce planning for the Wealth Strategies Group, aligning specialist capacity with demand across teams and regions.

  • Establish reliable sources of truth and recurring data feeds for demand drivers, including referral volumes, across each WSG work type and capacity model.

  • Formalize and maintain baseline model inputs, including productivity assumptions, work mix, lead times, vacancy rates, and other relevant capacity drivers.

  • Build and maintain WSG capacity models covering Tax, Trust & Estate, Financial Planning, and Income & Option specialists.

  • Develop real-time capacity reporting comparing demand with supply across WSG teams and regions.

  • Translate capacity insights into hiring, staffing, workload balancing, real estate, and resource allocation recommendations, identifying risks before constraints emerge.

  • Drive process improvement, automation, and AI-supported solutions that improve forecasting accuracy, increase visibility, and reduce manual effort.

What you have

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 5+ years of experience in relevant roles such as capacity management, workforce planning, financial planning & analysis, strategy, or business operations

  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills, including advanced Excel and data analysis/visualization capabilities (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI)

  • Demonstrated experience building forecasting, staffing, workload, or capacity models

  • Experience synthesizing complex data into actionable insights and recommendations

  • Experience independently leading cross-functional workstreams and implementing new processes or reporting capabilities

Preferred Experience:

  • MBA or graduate degree in a related field

  • Experience in financial services, wealth management, or advisory businesses

  • Experience with process automation, SharePoint-based workflows, and AI-supported analytics or reporting solutions

  • Self-starter with the ability to make significant progress with minimal direction and structure pathways forward in ambiguity

  • Ability to influence and build consensus across multiple stakeholders without direct authority

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present concise recommendations to business leadership

  • Superior attention to detail and ability to ensure error-free analysis and output
