Provides intermediate-level support to underwriters by preparing documentation, processing policies, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of information within the underwriting process. Maintains underwriting files, liaises with internal teams and external partners, and assists in the evaluation and processing of coverage renewals and endorsements with limited supervision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist underwriters with data collection, policy documentation, and file maintenance.

  • Review and verify policy forms, applications, and endorsements for completeness and accuracy.

  • Process and issue policy changes, cancellations, and renewals in accordance with company procedures.

  • Communicate with brokers, agents, and internal departments to resolve inquiries and obtain required information.

  • Perform rating and premium calculations using underwriting guidelines and systems.

  • Compile underwriting data for reporting, analysis, and audits.

  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.

  • Identify discrepancies and escalate complex issues to underwriting staff as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • 1–3 years of experience in underwriting support, insurance administration, or a related role.

  • Familiarity with insurance products, underwriting guidelines, and rating procedures is preferred.

  • Experience with data entry and documentation within insurance systems.

CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES / REGISTRATIONS

  • No specific criteria is required.

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload under minimal supervision.

  • Basic understanding of insurance terminology and policy administration.

  • Problem-solving and issue resolution skills.
