Full job description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) is responsible for autonomous robotics systems like the Fury unmanned fighter jet and the Barracuda family of advanced effects. The AD&S Mission Systems Cyber Security team builds security into the mission software stack from the ground up, rather than treating it as a separate concern bolted on at the end. Our engineers design the architecture that keeps mission-critical systems resilient against compromise while hardening the software and systems that run on our vehicles, building the monitoring and detection capabilities that identify and respond to security events in the field, and ensuring that only trusted, verified software ever makes it onto a vehicle. This work sits at the intersection of software engineering and security so we're looking for strong software engineers who can write code and design systems with security built in.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.

• 2-3+ years of production-grade C++, Rust or equivalent experience in a Linux development environment

• Experience designing and building secure software systems

• Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases

• Travel up to 30% of time to build, test, and deploy capabilities in the real world

  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

• Track record of high ownership and bias for action

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience hardening Linux-based systems and reducing attack surface (e.g., disabling unused services, minimizing installed packages, enforcing least-privilege configurations)

  • Familiarity with vulnerability scanning and remediation tooling and workflows

  • Experience implementing cryptographic key management, secure boot, or code-signing pipelines

  • Understanding of system monitoring and anomaly detection approaches for identifying and responding to security events

  • Experience designing software architectures that isolate components by trust level or security domain

  • Familiarity with identity and access management patterns, such as role-based access control or multi-factor authentication

  • Experience deploying, debugging, and testing software on physical systems in both lab and test site environments

  • Exposure to government reference architectures or compliance frameworks (e.g., STIGs, NIST security controls)

  • Knowledge of embedded or safety-critical systems and how security constraints interact with real-time or resource-constrained environments

  • Active Secret U.S. security clearance
