Day Compensation Hourly base pay rate is $24.23 - $36.35/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. What You’ll Do

  • Support Cyber Defense initiatives, including improvements to security operations, procedures and supporting solutions, as well as threat detection and response capabilities.
  • Support Cyber Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) programs to improve how the team collects and uses metrics, securely onboards new suppliers, and manages data governance and privacy policies.
  • Assist with application security reviews to identify and mitigate security and privacy risks.
  • Support cloud security through the development and tuning of posture-management policies.
  • Contribute to the Mergers and Acquisitions program by assessing new businesses in which Cox takes an ownership stake and helping identify and prioritize remediation of cyber risks.
  • Assist with Security Architecture initiatives to improve data protection and enable zero-trust architectures that provision least-privilege access to Cox Automotive assets.
  • Conduct research on a variety of cybersecurity topics.
  • Support documentation requirements, including documenting current-state and future-state processes.
  • Participate in Human-Centered Design sessions to capture brainstorming efforts.

Who You Are

Minimum qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a related degree program, such as Information Technology with a concentration in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or another related program.
  • Curiosity with a growth mindset and passion for Cybersecurity
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Exposure to cybersecurity scripting, such as Python or JavaScript.
  • Business or process documentation experience.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.

Intern/Co-Op sessions are considered temporary employment. No full-time employment commitments are made. However, depending on our business needs, some interns may be considered for a full-time position following the conclusion of the session conditioned upon the intern graduating from their academic program and being available to commence full-time employment at a specified time.
