Job Duties

The Senior Technical Recruiter will lead full-cycle recruitment for critical engineering, technical, product development, and technical leadership positions across Forgent's operating entities. This role serves as a strategic talent advisor to business and functional leaders, driving the identification, attraction, and hiring of highly specialized talent within engineered products, electrical systems, industrial technology, automation, and manufacturing environments.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise recruiting complex technical talent, strong industry knowledge, and an established network of engineering and product professionals. This individual understands how to navigate niche talent markets, engage passive candidates, and build long-term pipelines that support organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for technical, engineering, product development, and technical leadership roles across multiple business units.

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies focused on highly specialized talent within industrial, electrical, manufacturing, automation, and engineered-product sectors.

  • Build and maintain robust networks of technical professionals and cultivate talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.

  • Partner with hiring managers and business leaders to understand technical requirements, organizational goals, and workforce planning priorities.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing market intelligence, talent mapping, compensation insights, and competitive hiring trends.

  • Proactively identify and engage passive talent through networking, research, referrals, and direct sourcing strategies.

  • Conduct thorough candidate assessments to evaluate technical qualifications, leadership capability, and organizational fit.

  • Drive an exceptional candidate experience throughout the hiring process.

  • Manage multiple high-priority searches simultaneously while maintaining quality, speed, and stakeholder alignment.

  • Analyze recruiting metrics and pipeline performance to continuously improve hiring outcomes.

  • Support employment branding initiatives designed to increase awareness and attractiveness among technical talent communities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • 7+ years of recruiting experience, including significant experience supporting engineering and technical hiring.

  • Demonstrated success recruiting specialized talent within industrial manufacturing, engineered products, electrical systems, automation, technology, or related industries.

  • Strong understanding of engineering, product development, technical operations, and customer-facing technical functions.

  • Proven ability to recruit passive candidates in highly competitive talent markets.

  • Experience partnering directly with senior leaders and technical stakeholders.

  • Exceptional sourcing, networking, and talent mapping capabilities.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand complex technical concepts.

  • Excellent consulting, influencing, communication, and negotiation skills.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Recognized as a talent hunter rather than a requisition processor.

  • Maintains deep networks within engineering and technical talent communities.

  • Possesses a strong understanding of industrial, electrical, and engineered-product businesses.

  • Able to quickly build credibility with engineering leaders and technical professionals.

  • Takes a proactive, research-driven approach to talent acquisition.

  • Comfortable influencing hiring decisions through data, market intelligence, and expertise.

  • Thrives in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments where access to specialized talent is a competitive differentiator.

Success Measures

  • Consistently delivers high-quality technical talent for difficult-to-fill roles.

  • Builds sustainable talent pipelines for critical skill areas.

  • Improves hiring manager satisfaction and hiring outcomes.

  • Reduces dependence on external search firms through proactive sourcing and market expertise.

  • Establishes Forgent as an employer of choice within key technical talent markets.
