What You ’ ll Do (Your Impact):

  • Lead & Develop Staff: Supervise, train, and motivate your evening residential team. Manage shift scheduling and break requirements, maintain a substitute advisor pool, and handle hiring, evaluations, and performance management.

  • Champion Student Success: Provide individualized case management, partner with counselors to support student retention, and oversee the student dorm leadership program to cultivate positive peer mentoring.

  • Manage Dorm Operations: Ensure the physical security and cleanliness of your assigned dormitory during critical evening hours. Proactively manage supply inventory, submit maintenance work orders, and review shift/incident reports for absolute accuracy.

  • Drive Problem Resolution: Serve as the first line of support, using strong judgment and critical thinking to resolve student and staff conflicts swiftly and effectively.

  • Build Community Linkages: Build positive relationships within the local community and with elected officials to enhance student opportunities in education, employment, and Career Technical Training (CTT).

What You Bring:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required (Associate of Arts degree from an accredited school is preferred!).

  • Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in Job Corps or a related residential youth development program.

  • License: A valid in-state Driver’s License is preferred (as you may occasionally transport students).

  • Core Strengths: Exceptional leadership, time-management, and delegation skills. You must be able to communicate clearly, collaborate across all center departments, and model professional Career Success Standards.

Physical Requirements:

This is an active leadership role that requires regular presence across the dormitories and center campus. Candidates must be able to:

  • Sit, stand, walk, climb, reach, stoop, and crouch throughout the shift.

  • Lift, pull, push, or carry up to 40 pounds (and safely assess heavier loads to request team assistance).
