Day to Day

As a Director of Product Management, you will lead product strategy for a portfolio spanning Security Engineering, including Product Security, AI Security, Security Operations, and shared security platform capabilities that protect Indeed and the people who use it. You will define and continuously refine a multi-year security roadmap, translating business goals, risk, threat intelligence, and engineering constraints into prioritized investments that balance risk reduction with product velocity.

You will work closely with Security Engineering, Platform Engineering, Product Development, and other business partners to embed security practices and harden products and platforms at global scale. You will bring strong security judgment and technical credibility, using that experience to shape strategy, influence technical direction early, and help teams make effective tradeoffs.

You will understand how AI changes both the risks we need to address and the capabilities available to defend the company, and translate those changes into product strategy and investment priorities. You will partner with operational security teams to identify recurring trends and translate them into product requirements and measurable outcomes that reduce risk.

You will own the ongoing development, maintenance, alignment, and communication of the Security Engineering product strategy and investment roadmap, ensuring priorities evolve with changes in risk, technology, business needs, and the threat landscape. You will communicate strategy, major investment decisions, tradeoffs, progress, and outcomes clearly to senior and executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Set and continuously refine product strategy for a portfolio spanning multiple product areas and customer segments, translating company and business-unit goals into clear, sequenced priorities

  • Guide, coach, and develop a team of product managers — providing consistent feedback, supporting career growth, and building a healthy pipeline of future product leaders

  • Partner with Engineering, Design, Data Science, and business leadership to align on priorities, resource allocation, and sequencing of work across teams

  • Drive cross-team coordination for complex initiatives — anticipating risks, sequencing bets, and ensuring the highest-stakes work has the right support and guardrails

  • Define success metrics for the portfolio, establish mechanisms to track initiative progress and product health, and use data and experimentation to make informed decisions — building a team culture of rigorous measurement and continuous improvement

  • Ensure the portfolio delivers measurable security and business value, balancing risk reduction, engineering velocity, user experience, resilience, and operational cost.

  • Build alignment with peers and senior leadership on strategy, investment decisions, and outcomes — and communicate results clearly to executive audiences

Skills/Competencies

  • Requires a minimum of 17 years of related experience; or a minimum of 15 years with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 8 years experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate company and business-unit goals into coherent product portfolios with clear priorities, measurable outcomes, and well-sequenced investments.

  • Deep experience across multiple products, platforms, or customer segments, with the ability to navigate commercial, technical, and operational complexity and identify shared capabilities that create leverage across teams.

  • Demonstrated and observable track record of reducing security risk at global scale and delivering substantial change within large, complex software engineering organizations, including the ability to translate complex security problems into product strategies, investment priorities, and capabilities that achieve measurable adoption and risk reduction.

  • Proven track record of cross-functional leadership across Security Engineering, Product Development, Platform Engineering, and other business functions, driving adoption and outcomes across teams they do not directly manage.

  • Solid analytical foundation with experience defining success metrics, building measurement frameworks, and using data and experimentation to evaluate portfolio health, guide investment decisions, and drive iteration; demonstrated understanding of how AI changes both security risk and defensive capability, with the judgment to translate those changes into product strategy, requirements, and investment priorities.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate security strategy, risk, investment decisions, and material tradeoffs clearly to senior and executive audiences.
