What You'll Be Doing

This is a highly technical position that combines instrumentation, controls, and industrial electrical maintenance.

  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial control systems, instrumentation, and electrical equipment.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and reliability improvements on production and utility systems.

  • Maintain, calibrate, and repair instrumentation including transmitters, sensors, flow meters, pressure devices, and control valves.

  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC and DCS control systems.

  • Diagnose issues involving VFDs, industrial controls, motors, and automation technologies.

  • Install conduit, wiring, panels, and electrical components.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, blueprints, and technical drawings.

  • Support automated production equipment, utility systems, robotics, and process equipment.

  • Assist with equipment upgrades, plant improvement projects, and system modifications.

  • Partner with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to improve equipment reliability and plant performance.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members when needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical and instrumentation systems.

  • Hands-on PLC troubleshooting experience.

  • Experience working with industrial controls, automation, and process equipment.

  • Knowledge of instrumentation calibration and repair.

  • Experience with VFDs, motors, control panels, and industrial wiring.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.

  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.

  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

  • Background in chemical, process, utility, industrial manufacturing, power generation, food processing, or similar environments.

  • Knowledge of pneumatic instrumentation and control systems.

  • Experience supporting utility equipment, boilers, water systems, or automated production equipment.

  • Previous experience coaching or training other technicians.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Chicago Heights, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $47.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
