Full job description

Test Engineer – Vibration & Environmental Testing Onsite location: Oxnard, CA - Relocation Assistance Available Up to –$120,000 + Annual Bonus & Profit Sharing

We’re looking for a hands-on Test Engineer to join a growing engineering testing laboratory supporting complex programs across the aerospace, space, defense, government, and advanced manufacturing industries.

This is not a desk-only engineering position. You’ll work directly in the lab, own testing projects from setup through completion, work with technicians and other engineers, analyze test data, and communicate directly with customers.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of hands-on engineering/testing experience and is comfortable working across multiple types of testing rather than specializing in only one narrow area.

What You’ll Do

  • Own assigned testing projects from initial planning and setup through completion
  • Develop test plans based on customer requirements and specifications
  • Set up and operate automated and manual testing equipment
  • Work with vibration/shock systems, environmental chambers, data acquisition systems (DAQ), and measurement transducers
  • Design, develop, and assemble test fixtures
  • Analyze test data and verify results against customer requirements
  • Coordinate technicians performing testing and provide technical direction
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while monitoring schedule, quality, and cost
  • Communicate directly with customers throughout the testing process
  • Participate in customer meetings and provide technical updates
  • Support larger programs alongside Project Engineers while independently managing smaller projects

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of relevant engineering or hands-on testing experience
  • Previous experience working in a testing, laboratory, R&D, validation, or similar hands-on engineering environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
  • Hands-on experience with data acquisition systems (DAQ)
  • Ability to work across different testing methods, projects, and engineering disciplines
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills
  • Valid driver's license must be U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to meet required regulatory/background eligibility requirements associated with the testing environment

Especially Valuable Experience. We'd particularly like to speak with candidates who have experience with one or more of the following:

  • Vibration and shock testing
  • Environmental testing
  • Thermal cycling or thermal vacuum testing
  • Aerospace or space hardware testing
  • Fiber optic or optical testing
  • Electrical testing
  • Formal test plans and industry testing standards
  • LabVIEW or similar data acquisition software
  • Python or other programming languages
  • SolidWorks or similar CAD software

Mechanical Engineers with hands-on vibration/mechanical testing experience are especially relevant. Electrical Engineers or Physics backgrounds with fiber optic, electrical, or environmental testing experience may also be a strong fit.

The Environment You'll join a collaborative engineering team where engineers, technicians, and leadership work closely together. The organization places a strong emphasis on training and onboarding while giving experienced engineers the opportunity to take ownership of their projects.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being a technical generalist, someone who wants exposure to different products, customers, test methods, and engineering challenges rather than performing the same type of work every day.

Benefits & Perks

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Medical coverage effective on your first day
  • 401(k) with company contribution
  • Annual discretionary bonus
  • Profit sharing
  • Paid vacation and sick time
  • Paid holidays
  • Career advancement opportunities into senior engineering and engineering leadership roles
  • Relocation assistance available
