Description

SAIC is seeking a Network Engineer/COMSEC Custodian to work on our Information Services team. This role centers around ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of classified information systems and networks supporting a critical defense program at Hill AFB, Utah. The selected candidate will serve as a Network Administrator, partnering closely with the mission stakeholders to engineer and maintain compliant secure network architectures.

Job Duties:

  • Administer, Configure, and optimize enterprise‑grade routing and switching platforms (e.g., Cisco IOS/NX‑OS, Juniper, Arista).

  • Implement and Manage: Firewalls, VPN solutions, Network Segmentation, Zero Trust Security and Maintain directory services (Active Directory).

  • Design, document, and maintain LAN/WAN architectures, including redundancy, load balancing, and failover strategies.

  • Interpret and apply government security frameworks such as RMF, ACAS, HBSS/Trellix, and IAVM bulletins.

  • Automate network tasks through scripting (PowerShell, Python, Ansible) and demonstrate proficiency performing root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and integration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years relevant work experience or a master’s degree with 7+ years relevant work experience.

  • U.S. Citizenship with Active final Top Secret clearance required on date of hire and must meet DoD 8570.01‑M IAT Level II or higher certification requirements (e.g., Security+, CCNA, CASP+, CISSP).

  • Demonstrated professional experience in networking with a history of leading large‑scale projects or programs, preferably in defense or aerospace.

  • Experience designing and implementing secure network architectures and utilizing DISA STIG process to access and document compliance.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve daily support tickets, including end-user support via phone, email, and remote control.

Desired Skills:

  • Configure and install network devices and services such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN and QoS.

  • Monitor performance of networking systems to ensure availability and reliability.

  • Provide Level 2-3 support and troubleshooting networking issues.
