Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Director of Generation Projects to lead the development and execution of major power generation and energy infrastructure projects. This individual will oversee projects from initial planning and permitting through engineering, construction, commissioning, and commercial operation. The ideal candidate has a strong background in utility-scale generation projects, capital project management, and leading cross-functional teams in a complex regulatory environment. The annual salary for this role is 136k-190k with the opportunity for annual bonuses.

Day to Day: Lead large-scale power generation and energy infrastructure projects from concept to completion. Manage project budgets, schedules, forecasting, and risk mitigation strategies. Coordinate engineering, construction, procurement, permitting, and commissioning activities. Oversee contractors, consultants, vendors, and other project stakeholders. Support contract development and negotiations for major capital projects. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Develop and present project updates, performance metrics, and recommendations to leadership. Drive successful project execution while maintaining quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field. 10+ years of experience managing large capital construction or infrastructure projects. Experience leading utility, power generation, energy, industrial, or EPC projects. Knowledge of project budgeting, cost estimating, scheduling, and contract management. Strong understanding of construction practices and project lifecycle management. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders. Ability to travel as needed. Valid driver's license. Experience with power generation facilities, energy infrastructure, or utility operations. Experience with fossil fuel generation projects. Exposure to renewable energy, battery energy storage (BESS), solar, or wind projects. Experience with EPC contract administration and execution.
