The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections (IDJC) is seeking a full-time Facility Clinical Supervisor to join our team at the JCC-Nampa Facility.

The Facility Clinical Supervisor provides leadership and supervision to facility Clinicians and other members of the multidisciplinary clinical team who provide clinical services to juveniles committed to the custody of the Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections (IDJC). This position also provides technical expertise and guidance to facility clinical and treatment teams.

About the Position:

The Facility Clinical Supervisor position does not provide therapy or one-on-one counseling to juveniles in custody. Instead, the primary focus of this role is staff supervision and support, including the oversight of clinical services that are being implemented in the facility to juveniles and their families. The Facility Clinical Supervisor oversees a multidisciplinary team consisting of 4 Clinicians, 1 Rehabilitation Specialist, and clinical interns[MH2] . Knowledge and experience in professional clinical work within correctional and community settings is a plus.

Because this position works collaboratively across multiple systems serving juveniles and families in Idaho, familiarity with juvenile courts and probation services, child protection, and children’s mental health is also an important skill set. Experience with system collaboration and coordinating services across agencies will be valuable in this role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising a clinical team in the professional delivery of treatment, assessment, and case management services for juveniles.

  • Hiring staff, scheduling workload, assigning priorities, and evaluating and managing employee performance.

  • Providing technical expertise and advice to management.

  • Providing program design and direction.

  • Providing specialized clinical and rehabilitative services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation counseling, psychiatric nursing or a very closely related field of study.

  • Must have a license in one of the following areas: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensure in another state OR Certification as a school psychologist or school counselor

  • If licensed in another state must obtain an endorsement for an Idaho license within 90 days of hire.

Experience:

  • Experience providing social or treatment services in clinical and community-based treatment settings.

  • Experience providing in-service skills training to professional staff.

Some knowledge of:

  • Supervisory practices.

  • Community organization and development principles and processes.

  • Statistics, psychometric testing, and diagnostics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of conflict resolution;

  • At least one year of experience (post Master’s degree) providing direct clinical services to juveniles;

  • This position may require being a Registered Supervisor by an approved licensing board;

  • Training or related coursework in area of Childhood Trauma;

  • Experience with at risk juveniles.

  • Must be comfortable dealing with behavioral acting out that could include possible harassment, threats, and verbal abuse from juveniles in custody.
