The Family Health Educator is a committed individual who provides health education and support services to the community in the areas of Family Health, focusing on childbirth and related topics. This position provides a crucial link to the hospital and prepares families for childbirth, their hospital stay, and early postpartum period in our family-centered care environment before they transition home. This position will provide flexibility in scheduling.

Education:

• Education, training or commensurate experience in childbirth education

Experience:

• Experience in instructing patients, students, or families

• Experience in obstetrics, labor and delivery, and/or postpartum

• Experience with in person and virtual instruction

Certification/License:

• Certification as a childbirth educator

• Relevant courses, licensure, or commensurate experience will be considered in lieu of certification

Other:

• Able to incorporate different methods of learning into groups, including the use of all types of audio-visual equipment.

• Remains current with all learning applications, evaluations, and meetings throughout the year.

• Must have the confidence and capability to interact effectively with course participants
