Full job description

Description

We are looking for a Financial Reporting Analyst to support investment fund reporting activities. This long-term contract in-office position in Boston, MA (Financial District) focuses on preparing regulatory filings, monitoring fund expenses, and helping ensure the accuracy of financial information for registered investment companies. The role offers the opportunity to collaborate with fund administration and reporting professionals while contributing to time-sensitive deliverables and process improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare draft annual, semiannual, and quarterly financial statements and related regulatory filings for registered investment companies, while managing reporting calendars and key deadlines.

  • Build and update fund expense proformas, analyze expense activity and accrual balances, and coordinate required adjustments with clients and internal reporting teams.

  • Create and submit fund expense invoices for review and authorization, ensuring supporting information is complete and accurate.

  • Partner with leadership on the development of board materials and procedural documentation that support reporting and fund administration activities.

  • Distribute performance information to fund management and external industry publications in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Stay current on financial reporting and disclosure requirements affecting investment funds, including applicable regulatory and tax guidance, and apply updates to ongoing work.

  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors and team members regarding workflow, priorities, and milestone dates to keep reporting obligations on track.

  • Contribute to special assignments, assist in reviewing work completed by entry-level staff, and recommend enhancements to reporting tools and fund accounting processes to improve automation and compliance oversig

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • 3 to 5 years of mutual fund accounting or closely related industry experience, including 1 to 2 years in financial reporting.

  • Working knowledge of financial statements, fund expenses, accrual accounting, and regulatory reporting requirements for registered investment companies.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a consistent focus on precision and data quality.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and assignments effectively in a structured, fast-paced environment.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders.

  • Experience reviewing detailed financial information, invoices, and compliance-related documentation with a high level of organization and accountability.
