What you get to do: Own the commercial growth agenda for one of our markets, a regional portfolio of parks within our family of SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Discovery Cove, Sesame Place and Waterparks brands. You will act as the commercial leader for the market. You'll define where growth comes from (which segments, channels and sources of demand) and turn that into a plan the business can execute. You'll partner closely with each park's executive team to shape the strategy. You'll also work with Finance, Marketing, Resellers, Revenue Management and other key partners from planning through execution. Success is measured by delivering revenue and attendance growth against plan for the market. You will:

  • Develop and own the multi-year commercial growth strategy for the market, turning revenue and attendance targets into a clear plan by segment, channel, geography and visitation source
  • Partner closely with the Park Executive Teams to shape the market's commercial strategy, align on priorities and make sure the plan reflects each park's opportunities and constraints
  • Work with Finance, Marketing, Resellers and other key partners across planning, strategy and execution, from target setting and annual plans through launch and performance tracking
  • Lead a team that runs growth planning, segment and channel strategy, and commercial performance analysis for the market
  • Define which customer segments to grow, defend or develop (locals, tourists, groups, international, pass members and others) and set the commercial priorities for each
  • Shape channel strategy across direct, e-commerce, resellers, groups and partners, including mix, roles and growth targets
  • Partner with Revenue Management and Pricing & Offer to set the commercial direction that pricing, product and promotional decisions should deliver against
  • Build the analytics behind growth decisions: market sizing, segment economics, channel performance, demand drivers, competitive dynamics and a test-and-learn agenda
  • Identify and size new growth opportunities, such as underpenetrated segments, new channels, partnerships and source markets, and build the business case to pursue them
  • Act as the market's commercial voice to the Senior Leadership Team, reporting on growth performance, risks and outlook
  • Bring new commercial practices, tools and ways of working into the market
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What it takes to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Track record in commercial strategy, growth strategy or a similar analytically driven commercial role, ideally with P&L or market-level accountability
  • Experience setting segment and channel strategy and turning it into measurable results
  • Experience leading and developing multiple direct reports
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn complex information into clear recommendations for executive leadership
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Comfort working across a matrixed organization and influencing without direct authority

Preferred:

  • MBA or advanced degree in a related field
  • Experience partnering with senior operating leaders (such as General Managers or park/business-unit executive teams) to shape and deliver strategy
  • Proficiency in advanced analysis and BI tools (SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Python, R or similar)
  • Background in theme parks, attractions, leisure, cruise, lodging, airline or another high-volume consumer industry
  • Experience working with reseller, travel trade or distribution partners
  • Working knowledge of revenue management and pricing, enough to partner effectively with those functions

Compensation: 125K-135K USD Annually
