Salary Range: $21,121.97 To $63,775.02 Annually

A Child's Place at Unity House of Troy is seeking passionate and qualified Master’s Level Special Education Teachers (Birth–Grade 2 certified) to join our welcoming Special Education Department.

We are looking for a special education teacher to join our co-teaching model in an integrated setting. Our program strives to provide diverse, curriculum driven opportunities for identified children to learn along side their peers.

$5000 sign on bonus for eligible candidates ([email protected]) Salary based upon experience and qualifications.

Salaried Monday – Friday 35hrs/week

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Special Education

  • NYS Certification: Students with Disabilities, Birth–Grade 2

  • Proficient writing and computer skills

  • Ability to implement and adapt behavior support plans

  • Reliable transportation & valid NYS driver’s license

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess developmental and educational needs of preschoolers with special needs

  • Design and implement individualized, evidence-based instruction

  • Perform student assessment and evaluation required

  • Adapt behavioral plans accordingly

  • Work with a supportive multi-disciplinary team

  • Collaborate with all staff, teachers, therapists, administrators and families to benefit the children served

  • Create inclusive, supportive classroom environments

  • Conduct evaluations and maintain required documentation

  • Promote a classroom of inclusion and belonging
