Top Secret ISSE/Systems Security Engineer

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Top Secret Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support a DoD customer in Dahlgren, VA. This individual will support cybersecurity efforts across RDT&E environments, including continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, risk assessments, compliance, and authorization activities. The ideal candidate will have an active Top Secret Clearance and 5+ years of Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, ISSE, or Systems Security Engineering experience. This role serves as a key liaison between Code 104 engineering teams and 1043 ISSMs, ensuring alignment on security requirements, system changes, and risk decisions while supporting secure system design and operation. The pay for this role ranges from $49-$59/hour, based on experience.

Skills and Requirements

• Active Top Secret Clearance and high school diploma
• 5+ years of Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, ISSE, or Systems Security Engineering experience
• Experience with DoD cybersecurity requirements, DoDI 8500.2, DISA STIGs, IAVM, vulnerability management, and network vulnerability assessments
• Experience supporting RMF, PIT, DIACAP, ATOs, or other authorization activities
• Experience creating PIT Designation Requests, PIT Risk Assessments, DIACAP plans, and other cybersecurity artifacts
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux/UNIX administration
• Knowledge of PKI, Ports, Protocols & Services (PPS), and DoD cybersecurity standards
• Experience supporting system authorization, remediation activities, and operational security efforts
• Strong communication skills with the ability to act as a liaison between engineers, ISSMs, cybersecurity leadership, and external stakeholders
• Experience with Nessus or similar vulnerability scanning tools
• Experience automating compliance, reporting, or vulnerability management processes
• Experience with security control testing and remediation planning
• Bachelor's degree
