Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Quality Engineer / Process FMA Specialist to support Ford's PTME and Global Quality organizations. This individual will be responsible for improving manufacturing system performance, strengthening quality processes, and supporting launch and warranty initiatives across powertrain manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with PFMEAs, Control Plans, APQP, and structured problem-solving methodologies. This role will partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Product Development, Plant Quality, and Operations teams to drive continuous improvement and quality excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and maintain PFMEAs and Control Plans to ensure compliance with corporate standards
  • Support root cause investigations using 3L5Y, 8D, A3, and other structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Drive permanent corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support launch quality reviews and warranty deep-dive investigations
  • Identify recurring failure modes, process risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Plant Quality, and Global Engineering teams on quality initiatives
  • Support implementation of lessons learned and best practices into future programs
  • Update quality tools, systems, training materials, and reporting processes
  • Analyze manufacturing and quality data to improve process robustness
  • Travel to manufacturing plants to support launches, deep dives, and quality improvement efforts

Compensation: $46/hr -

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong quality engineering experience within a manufacturing plant environment
  • Hands-on experience creating, reading, updating, and auditing PFMEAs
  • Extensive experience developing and maintaining Control Plans
  • APQP experience within manufacturing operations
  • Experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
  • Experience utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies including 3-Legged 5-Why (3L5Y), 8D, and A3
  • Strong analytical, continuous improvement, and communication skills
  • Experience supporting launch quality and warranty reduction initiatives
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • DMAIC experience
  • Knowledge of Ford quality processes including SCCAF, SCCP, PFMEA, Control Plans, BOP, and Launch Readiness Assessments
  • Experience with Ford systems such as MIDAS, FEDE, GPDS, and Knowledge Packets
  • GD&T knowledge
  • AutoCAD or other CAD software experience
