Description

SAIC is seeking a Knowledge Manager for the NORAD/NORTHCOM NITES program onsite in Colorado Springs. You will be responsible for developing, governing, and optimizing the organization’s knowledge ecosystem. This role ensures that critical information, processes, and institutional knowledge are captured, organized, and made easily accessible across the enterprise. By doing so, the Knowledge Manager reduces operational friction, accelerates onboarding, strengthens collaboration across teams, and empowers employees with the information they need to perform at their best.

This position is critical to advancing organizational efficiency, preserving institutional knowledge, and creating a unified and well-governed knowledge environment. Responsibilities range from establishing governance models to training and adoption strategies that ensure operational and mission success.

Responsibilities:

Knowledge Strategy & Governance

  • Define a knowledge strategy by establishing the vision, framework, and governance model for Knowledge Management within the organization.

  • Develop and implement content standards, including taxonomies, metadata models, and conventions, to ensure consistency and accessibility.

  • Establish and lead governance committees to oversee knowledge quality, maintenance, and compliance.

  • Own and manage knowledge platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, Teams) and enterprise search tools.

  • Leverage automation and knowledge tools (Power Platform, AI) to streamline knowledge workflows, tagging, and lifecycle management.

  • Oversee the full content lifecycle, ensuring knowledge assets are reviewed, maintained, archived, or retired as needed.

Operational Excellence & Knowledge Enablement

  • Build and maintain a repository of high-value content, including SOPs, institutional guides, and expert-authored documents.

  • Optimize search functionality to improve knowledge findability and reduce time-to-information.

  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration to identify, document, and standardize key processes across the enterprise.

  • Support onboarding efforts, ensuring new employees can access essential knowledge and resources quickly.

  • Develop and deliver training for knowledge tools, access, and best practices, driving adoption across teams.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Track and report key metrics (e.g., knowledge article usage, search success rates, time-to-information, and adoption).

  • Analyze trends to identify gaps in the Knowledge Base and prioritize content creation efforts.

  • Use data and feedback to recommend and drive continuous improvement to the Knowledge Management process, tools, and governance model.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field, with two (2) years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of relevant experience is acceptable.

  • Experience managing enterprise platforms such as SharePoint, Teams, Confluence, or similar systems for organizing and sharing content.

  • Strong understanding of governance principles, including developing taxonomies, metadata models, and document lifecycle standards.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into structured, accessible formats.

  • Demonstrated experience in knowledge workflow automation or using AI/Power Platform to streamline processes.

  • Proven success in collaborating with cross-functional teams to operationalize Knowledge Management across multiple business or mission processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred Certifications: ITIL Foundation Certification or equivalent; PMP or related project management certification is beneficial.

  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and ITSM processes (e.g., Incident, Problem, Change Management) is preferred.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
